ص وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ   

38.1 . Sad . By the renowned Quran ,

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ   

38.2 . Nay , but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism .

كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ   

38.3 . How many a generation We destroyed before them , and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape!

وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ   

38.4 . And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them , and the disbelievers say : This is a wizard , a charlatan .

أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَهاً وَاحِداً إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ   

38.5 . Maketh he the gods One God? Lo! that is an astounding thing .

وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ   

38.6 . The chiefs among them go about , exhorting : Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed .

مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ   

38.7 . We have not heard of this in later religion . This is naught but an invention .

أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي بَلْ لَمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ   

38.8 . Hath the reminder been revealed unto him ( alone ) among us? Nay , but they are in doubt concerning My reminder ; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom .

أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ   

38.9 . Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord , the Mighty , the Bestower?

أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ   

38.10 . Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes!
